My thoughtful friends

I had to go back to school today to do grades. It takes all day. When I got there, my fellow friends brought me dinner for my family. A huge bag of rolls, potato salad, tons of cookies ( that got attacked when I walked in the house), and ham. wow. Jody got me a really sweet book. It's called Badger's Parting Gifts. It focuses on the great gifts we received from the ones that have passed away, how it still hurts, but how life will get better too. Thanks

What are you reading Phil?

Ok, now Phil reads "Boy Flick" books as a wind down right before bed. Clive Clusser is our family favorite. Well two nights ago I said what are you reading? He said they made a teacher section of good reads in his school library and so he picked up Twighlight. I'm like, Ok. Last night as I crawled into bed, I said where are you in the story? He said he was in arizonia about to go the a ballet studio. I looked at him twice and said, good luck luck getting to sleep anytime soon. This morning he finished the book. lol

Utah Valley University Ballroom Competition

The boys competed Saturday. Phil did the parent sit all day and watch thing. Here are a few good pictures.

Three Sisters in the Dressing Room

We went out for one hour to see if we could find a dress for each of us for the funeral. At the end, we all sat on the bench in the dressing room and took a picture on my phone. Crazy. We found some cute jackets for 6.99...but not a dress yet.

Working on the program

It took me until 9:30 to get out of my school building yesterday! I think writing lesson plans is as bad as picking out a movie. We worked on getting the program into a new format in Word. I think I need a class. I am used to art programs that do what I want. How crazy it is when you don't know the tricks. Dad and Beckie worked on telephone calls and finding the right picture and poem. It looks great. Aunt Sue came in to town and we had a great visit. Uncle Ron and Uncle Bob are coming into town closer to the funeral. We had a great time starting at 9:00 watching an old movie with Strongheart in it. We thought it might last from 10 to 30 minutes and it went on for over an hour. The dog was wonderful and amazing! You will all have to see this movie with only black slides of the words between video coverage.

Jessica's Birthday Fire Cake

We did a remake of Cafe Rio for Jessica's birthday Sunday night. Maddi got the recipe from a site she follows. We made everything from scratch. I kept asking my neighbor for missing ingredients. Thanks Maddi! It was yummy. The boys all had it again in the morning. What a nice excuse.

Grandma's Funeral Arrangements

My mama died sweetly last night at 11:40 pm. I'm really going to miss her. I have been working on a blog for her. You can see it at bethraynes.blogspot.com

It has the funeral arrangements and her obituary. There is even one of her writing that we found on Saturday.

Casket pictures- Don't look if it bothers you.

Aunt Marybeth asked me to post these pictures of her beautiful new home to be. Sara asked for some pictures. Here you go. It is a totally wonderful casket. It has x that I think are kisses, and little flowers between. It is sweet. Beautiful like grandma.

Rich dancing

Provo High Ballroom Competition

We found pictures for Rich and James, but not for Bob. Bob is the one that walked away with four medals. Rich and James both made it to all to the finals. I think they are doing great this year!

Dad working at the Temple on Saturday

Dad is going to be an usher and in charge of security on Saturday. He had to have a dark suit for security, so he found one at DI. The boys are dancing at the barn at Thanksgiving Point. Mom is serving water and cookies at the temple in the morning. It is our day for our ward to be in charge of lots of things.

Grandma is not doing well

Beckie called and said that Grandma is not doing well. I spent the rest of the night with them, Aunt Pearl and Brent, Aunt Beckie and some visitors after class. We are not sure how long she will last. Cara wrote an amazing poem that I read to her. She loved it. Nathan called and she was so happy. She is taking visitors, but she is sleeping a lot and fading in and out. I am going to really miss my mom.

Teacher tested, Teacher approved

Today the principal came and watched me teach today. It always make me nervous. It seems like my class was very talky. I guess she got to see the real picture. Personally, I love them that way. I like that they feel like they can contribute to a discussion. I'm not very good at the hand raising thing. I would like them to just be part of the conversation. Well, one day, done, one more to come.
