Family Dinner

Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Beckie, Aunt Pearl, Uncle Brent, and our family got together on Sunday.  Some came for dinner, and some came for talk.  It was lots of fun.  It is still warm enough to eat on the porch and swing in the swings.  Dad made a ramp for grandma to walk up.  It worked out great.

Go Kart Made by Dad and Bob

First the old wheels had to be taken off of one of the old lawn mowers.  Bob did that. The day had finally arrived.  When dad made a promise..you have to fulfill it sometime soon.  They made the promised go kart on Saturday; then they took it up to South Mountain and had fun.  What a fun Dad!!!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Dad just spent the last two nights doing parent/teacher conferences.  Dad has around 350 kids in his classes of PE...so he had tons of parents.  He is pretty tired tonight.  He doesn't want to talk to anyone tonight..just fall into the soft chair.

Mike loves his new area and companion

Just got a letter from Mike and he taught 13 lessons this last week.  He is happy.  He likes his new area and his new companion a lot.  He says its the right place for him.

Richard Piano

Richard now has been playing the piano for a month.  The beginning starts with "Mary Had A Little Lamb".

Dad's eye is ok

The doctor said Friday there was no cancer in the piece they took from by his eye.  That is good news.

Dad's Potato Dinner

I had a primary meeting after church..and Dad made his famous dinner!  I had to take a pic.  All my sons know how to make it!

Dance Saturday Orem 2008

James did awesome!  He placed 2nd in PreChamp Latin.  Bob had a fun time trying out some new dances too.

Five Mile Pass Boys Weekend Out

Joe organized and Dad, Stan, and Rich all had a great time on Friday and Saturday out riding.  They had a blast.  Thanks Joe!  I guess Stan has more pictures because Dad said that he would ride by with his camera going as he passed them.  Haha

Elder McShinsky Sept. 3rd week

We got on line at the same time.  How crazy is that.  It was 6 in the morning his time.  Not only did he send a letter, but we got to instant message also.  He was being transfered in a couple of hours.  He sent a couple of pictures, and I cropped it to be just him.  Obviously on a p-day.  The other photos are from Elder Addis (past companions) blog.  Thanks!

Michael: hi

me:  Hi Mike

I think you are going to have a great time with your new area.  You will be in our prayers continually.  What did you mean by a temple?

Michael:  the russian churches are called temples

me:  So that will be beautiful to look at

Michael:  yeah, they project pictures of christ there at night on it's wall

me:  We get to sit on our porch and look at the temple on our hill too.  They are lighting it up at night right now.

Michael:  it's done?

me: sweet..Christ is the right person.  

Michael:  who in the family typed the word sweet?

me:  mom, I could have typed, "its tight", but I can't give away all my sixth grade words.

Michael: hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Esthers Wedding

Esther got married today and it was really nice.  She looked beautiful and her husband seems very nice.  Everyone in her ward came and helped.  Lots of family showed up too.  Her baby was dressed in white.  She was darling.

Dad's eye

Dad got new glasses.  Now he has trifocals.  He said it is hard to figure out what to look through.  At the same time he got his exam, the doctor told him to have his mole by his eye looked at.  He went to a specialist, and got part of it removed.  They are sending it away to the lab to see if it has the right stuff to be cancer.  It has never been a problem, so we aren't too worried.  He will hear back by friday.

Elder McShinsky Sept. 2nd week

Note from Russia:

Something that was cool that happened today was this morning when we got this phone call.  The guy says that he had interacted with missionaries earlier and that because he had been on a business trip for the last month and had lost his phone that he was calling to make sure that our number was the right number and if he could meet with us.  The past missionaries must have left quite an impression of the spirit and teaching for him to call us if he could meet with us.  So we'll be meeting with him at 4:00, that is in three hours.

Boy Scout Jamboral

Friday night, Dad and Rich went to the Jamboral in South Jordan.  They had a great time trading pins to create a patch.  Rich got to use his call name in the Ham Radio booth.  Dad and Joe talked through the ham radio back and forth.  Dad saw that he could plug in his radio to the computer and talk international.  He said he wanted to try that.

Blow up the Head Gasket...To get a new Car

Wednesday, James when going to Provo, the truck started blowing smoke.  After the rescue, we went to the state surplus and found a Chevy Cavalier 2001 for $3 gran and it is supposed to get 31 mpg.  We could use a break on gas.  James and I spent the after noon finding a black steering wheel cover and black mats.  Creative....well...it made James happy.  I personally liked the Mickey Mouse steering wheel cover and the Hawaiian seat covers.  He was wishing for for BYU seat covers. 

Bob at the State Fair

Joe and Madi with Ella, took Bob to the State Fair with them.  Lots of fun!  Look at the ride Bob went on.  Crazy~ 

Girls Night Out

We had fun going to grandma's house where we had a girls night out.  Jessica Anderson organized it.  We had everything naughty to eat...tasted good to me.  We told something we had learned.  Dad went camping with 5,000 other boys in South Jordan.  Joe called him on the ham radio, and they enjoyed talking.

Dance, Dance, Dance

We have been doing so much dancing this week.  Its only Wednesday, and we have already been to Provo twice, and going again tomorrow.  They are learning routines for the fall competitions.

Labor Day

Today we worked cleaning out the upstairs of extra items.  Dad filled up the back of the truck with tons of debris to take to the dump tomorrow.  The holiday was too short, but it was still great to get one.  Back to school tomorrow.
