Cool New Toy at School

Today I opened the box with a document camera for my class today. It is so cool. We were taking notes and having a great time with it today. I guess it costs around 600 dollars. I get to use it because I took this class this summer. Lucky me.

Half a lawn

Dad transfered thick sod from Stan's yard to the new fenced in area. It looks cool. It raised 1/2 of the yard a half a foot, I think. Thanks Stan and Jess!

Funny mix up of words with Bob

Yesterday, dad had some rebar put in the car to take to Stan's house for his shed project. Bob was involved with this. So, today I am driving to Aunt Pearl's house because I was going to get some rhubarb that she was harvesting. So this is the conversation: All this time, Bob is thinking I'm talking about rebar. "Bob, I'm going to go to Aunt Pearls for some rhubarb. We are going to cut it into pieces and cook it. Dad likes it with strawberries." "Really mom, can you do that?"."Oh yeah...its a little sour, but if you put sugar with it...its good." "Mom, why would you want to do that". "Some people like it, especially dad". "It sounds horrible." "No, its not too bad". "If you boil it, it will soften after awhile, and its like sour patch kids." It took us awhile to get that we were talking about two different things. It was a pretty funny conversation.

Dad's UEA projects

Phil finished the little fence. Ella can go out and play now. He put two gates in. One on each end. He also built a big door on the storage unit in the back of the yard. He is also trying to get the big truck to inspection level. Libby read Fablehaven. Its a good book. She did a little shopping too. The boys mowed the lawns for the last time, we think. It was a beautiful outdoor day.

Bob's 3D map for school

Bob had to create a map of some type. He made Pizza Peninsula. He made salt dough mountains, rivers, cities, etc. He labeled everything with pizza names. He had a great time making it.

Gardner Village

Last night I went to Gardner Village on 7800 South to see the witches with an old friend from Oregon.  We had a fun time walking through the shops and looking at the bigger than life witches they had all over the village.  Here are a few pictures of some of the witches.

Fence Building

We are putting a fence up.  It is right outside the middle door.  It is turning out really nice.

Elder McShinsky Oct week 2

Dear Family,
This last week went by pretty fast and good.  I haven't seen conference yet, but we get to see two sessions on Sunday of our choosing.  We met with a lot of good people this last week and found a some good investigators.
Lol, I'm not sure on what to write...you'll have to ask me some questions or something :)  Everything is going really good.  We're finding and teaching and coming home tired.

Love,
Elder McShinsky

Elder McShinsky Oct. 1st week

Hmmm..I 'm happily engaged in this blessed work.  Sometimes we're out here really tired and hungry, but we keep on working with a smile and a special message and at the end of everyday, it all pays off....I love sleep, but the beds aren't so good here :)
Have fun, be good.
Love,
Elder McShinsky
